Optimizing Business Continuity Processes through Reimagined Service Delivery
The fabric of business operations is being reimagined. Today, every process in a company is transitioning to a hybrid workflow with a people-first approach. Gone are the days of wash, rinse, and repeat expansion cycles and tried-and-true delivery models.
The new working model has delighted a majority of business leaders thanks to the apparent advantages over on-site processes. Cost savings in operations, higher productivity, and a chance to tap into the global talent pool are some of the major perks of hybrid working models. While these are all great, business continuity turned out to be the biggest bonus of remote working.
Organizations that redesigned their business to accommodate hybrid workflows at the start of the pandemic, fared far better than those that did not. Teams lacking a clear remote working strategy reported a 39% slump in productivity and a 59% dip in morale. Organizations that already employed automated processes in their workflow, fared even better. 86% of these organizations reported a faster rebound rate.
However, moving forward, it is going to take much more than automated tools to stay relevant. A complete reimagining of work environments and service models is going to be necessary. Here is how two of Alldigi’s biggest clients transformed their workflows.
Case 1: Building a Highly Secure Remote User Environment
Client: A leading Global Forex-based Trading Company with 5M+ users across the globe
When the COVID-19 pandemic started, the client had two key business requirements: 1) Continue providing services 24/7 and 2) maintain data security even as employees worked remotely on home networks
To achieve this, we adopted a strict “no BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)” policy. Each employee was provided hardened production devices (desktop, laptop, and internet dongles) to use at their remote workplace. These devices had the following features:
- They could only be used with a secure VPN connection
- Cut/Copy/Paste features were disabled for sensitive information
- Employees had to consent to a ‘Remote User Policy’ in order to use the devices
Through resource planning and forecasting, we also ensured that critical process coverage remained at 100% throughout the transition from office to home. Remote access to audit platforms also allowed us to keep service quality at 100%.
Business impact: The new work model allowed our client to keep their promise of 24/7 service, even during the height of the pandemic. They were also able to handle the surge in new users effortlessly.
Case 2: Creating a Secure Composite Cloud Solution
Client: A leading provider of financial services and products in the US with 9M+ lifetime customers
When work-from-home began, data security was the biggest concern for the client. With terabytes of financial data being stored on their servers, one wrong move during the shift could spell disaster.
For this client, we migrated from Citrix to AWS and adopted a mix of BYOD and Alldigi issued systems. The access to servers and files was given based on an employee’s clearance level. The existing cloud-based dialer was also configured for a WFH setup.
Business impact: The client achieved ~100% critical process coverage and zero breaches in data security. This allowed the client to continue upgrading their legacy processes to modern workflows that could give more results with lesser expenditure.
Customizing Remote Working Models
Cookie-cutter approaches will not work when it comes to creating a hybrid working model that delivers business resilience. There are too many variables at play that make it impossible to create a template for a particular business or industry. Therefore, business leaders need to add another level of dimension to their analysis. While continuing to inquire ‘what worked for them,’ they must also ask ‘will it work for us?’
At Alldigi, we deliver innovative business solutions that perfectly augment our clients’ business model. We guarantee full compliance, low TAT, and fast go-to-market timelines. Contact us to know more.
